Meet Lydia

Hi, I’m Lydia Brearley, a Sustainable Fashion Expert with over 25 years in the fashion industry. 

My career began as an International Fashion Buyer, where I developed collections for some of the worlds most well known brands. From the UK and Europe to China, I have partnered with community artisans to large-scale manufacturers, understanding the nuances of both small scale and large commercial scale manufacturing. 

 My experience deepened when I moved to Shanghai, China, the largest global manufacturing hub in the world, where I witnessed firsthand the scale and impact of the fashion industry.

After nearly 20 years working as a fashion buyer on the treadmill of designing, developing and sourcing products, this was a pivotal moment in my career in deciding I wanted to become part of the solution.

Now, as an independent consultant, I guide brands toward a circular economy—helping them implement sustainable strategies that drive genuine, actionable change. 

Inspired by the Swedish word "Enkel," meaning "simple," my mission is to demystify sustainability, equipping businesses with tools and insights to thrive in a changing industry landscape. 

With Sustainability Business Leadership training from Cambridge University, I bring a blend of global insight and expertise to every project, making sustainable transformation both achievable and impactful.
